Some times the greatest art comes from taking chances and doing things differently. Well, not in this case. I tried to change the colors from rustic to bright oranges, violets, reds and greens. I used Faber Castel Aquarelle Water Color Pencils. They do not cover the surface completely and smoothly like the Polychromos pencils. In a different artwork the scratch texture may be appealing, but was not the look I was going for. In addition, I am not happy with my color choice. The bright Ikea like colors is too playful to depict Eid. I do like the golden color of the masked viewer and water. I am tempted to used this color in the final piece.
